Eligibility Criteria to Join Pak Army as Medical Cadet
To be eligible, candidates must meet specific age, educational, and physical requirements. The selection process includes registration, medical and physical tests, and interviews.
Age Requirements
- Candidates must be between 17 and 21 years old. However, there is a 3-month relaxation in the upper and lower age limits.
Marital Status
- Only unmarried males are eligible to apply for this program.
Gender and Physical Standards
- Gender: Male
- Minimum Height: 5’4″ (162.5 cm)
- Weight: Must be as per Body Mass Index (BMI)
Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must have completed FSC (Pre-Medical) with at least 70% marks, or an ‘A’ level with minimum grade C in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Candidates from certain regions, including Balochistan, Tharparkar, Omar Kot, Northern Areas, Azad Kashmir (Upper Neelam Valley), and FATA, may apply with 65% marks.
- Candidates with foreign qualifications must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC), Ministry of Education, Islamabad.
Nationality
- Candidates must be citizens of Pakistan or domicile holders of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. Dual nationality holders must renounce their non-Pakistani citizenship upon final selection.

Required Documents for Pak Army as Medical Cadet
- Attested photocopies of Matric and FSC certificates (or equivalent), CNIC/Form ‘B’, and passport-sized photographs.
- Candidates currently awaiting FSC Part II results can submit a “Hope Certificate” from their college principal, indicating that they are expected to score at least 70% in their final exams.

Selection Procedure in Pak Army as Medical Cadet
Initial Medical Examination
- After registration, candidates will undergo an initial medical examination at their nearest AS&RC to ensure they meet the physical standards.
Written Test Format and Subjects
- The written test will consist of multiple-choice questions covering English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Candidates must pass this test to move on to the next stage.
Physical Fitness Tests
- 1.6 Km Run: Must be completed in 8 minutes.
- Push-Ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Sit-Ups: 20 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Pull-Ups: 3 repetitions in 2 minutes.
- Ditch Crossing: Candidates must clear a 7.4′ x 7.4′ and 4′ deep ditch.
Interviews and Psychological Tests
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified to appear for intelligence and personality tests, followed by interviews conducted by the GHQ Selection Board at the Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.
Final Merit List
- The final selection will be based on overall performance, including academic achievements, test scores, and interviews. Successful candidates will undergo a final medical examination at a nearby CMH.
Pak Army Medical Cadet Training Program after Selection
Overview of Medical Cadet Training
- Selected candidates will pursue a 5-year MBBS or a 4-year BDS program at one of the Army Administered Medical Colleges. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive medical education alongside military training.

- MBBS: Available at Army Medical Colleges in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, Bahawalpur, Kharian, and Multan.

Basic Military Training (BMT)
- After completing their medical degree, cadets will undergo 22 weeks of Basic Military Training at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul. This training is crucial for instilling military discipline and leadership skills in future army doctors.
